Anyone can keep his joy when he's riding high in the Holy Ghost, not being tried or tempted. But God wants us to keep ourselves in his love at all times—especially in our temptations. The apostle John tells us very simply how we can keep ourselves in God's love: "We have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that […]
Sola Scriptura
The Bible is the sole written divine revelation and alone can bind the conscience of believers absolutely.
Sola Fide
Justification is by faith alone. The merit of Christ imputed to us by faith is the sole ground of our acceptance by God, by which our sins are remitted.
Solus Christus
Christ is the only mediator through whose work we are redeemed.
Sola Gratia
Our salvation rests solely on the work of God’s grace for us and in us.
When I first started to read Oswald Chambers, I struggled to understand due to the older style English of the early 1900s. The more I read, sometimes with a dictionary in hand, the more I experienced the richness and truth of his writing, and the more excited I became as the Lord opened Himself up to me through it.
I remember the day when the Lord showed me that the real sin Jesus died for, was not about the evil things people did or had done or thought, the sin was really our complete independence from Him in our lives – [...]
Matthew Henry has an incredible way of opening Biblical things up. I have put links at the beginning of each excerpts below. His whole Biblical commentay is available online. The Teaching and Discerning link on the right hand side will take you to the contents of this treasure trove. It really is worth an exploration.
I trust you will be blessed by some of his insights on Genesis 2 & 3
ObedienceIn Genesis chapter 2, we read about how God had finished the creation and then put man and the woman he created into the Garden of Eden and everything was wonderful [...]
My Brother-in-law and his family moved to New Zealand a couple of years ago. He has two young children who have been brought up with Jesus since birth. My brother-in-law was sitting with his 7yr old son one day, showing him some recent pictures of archaeological discoveries in the Red Sea, of chariot wheels and other Egyptian artifacts. He said to his son, “and this is proof that the Israelites did cross the Red Sea and when the Egyptian followed, God Closed the water over them and they drowned – just like it says in the Bible.” His son thought [...]
I have added an e-book link on the right-hand side, which I hope to add to as I go along. The books added will be ones I have read and felt led to add because of their importance either for teaching in our growth with the Lord or as an awareness and warning of the times we are living in.
If you know of any really good e-books that you have read on-line, please write to me with a link. I will have a read and if I feel the Lord wants me to add them here, I will put them [...]
I found this article on Roger Oakland’s Understand The Times (UTT) where he shares various articles of current news in light of Scripture and how the world is moving along according to God’s timeline.
This particular news article is showing how one-world religion is steadily gaining impetus and this article is only a tiny moment in the whole movement. That is all the more reason why we need to know what God says about everything.
There are many more topics on Roger’s site if you would like to research further. It is important as Christians that we know what is going [...]
“To turn head faith into a personal possession is a fight always, not sometimes.”
Oswald Chambers
How wonderfully true these words are. I don’t know about you, but I often fight or wrestle in situations. “But Lord, it doesn’t make sense!” I like things all neatly tied up and just ‘so’, God never seems to do it that [...]
As we grow in faith and love in Christ, we also grow in our understanding of our need of repentance how important it is to keep a clean slate between us and God.
Here is an audio file by Paul Washer sharing how we cannot expect instant maturity, but rather it is something we develop as we walk with God. The understanding of repentance in a new born Christian is not at the same level of someone who has truly walked with God for many years and has been moulded and broken by God many times.Enjoy.
I was reading the latest international news from my link on the right – In The Days, and I came across a link from a sister called Linda, who posted a comment on one of their news articles as she put it, “to take the edge off…” There is so much happening all at once on many fronts, all over the world right now. Now is a good time to keep our eyes on the Lord.
It is from Lamb and Lion Ministries which has a 3-part series from their TV programmes – Christ in Prophecy reading from Psalm 2. [...]
Too often on-line, we read so much about false prophets, and false teaching and the circus church and all the chaos that goes on out there.
This article is not one of those. Here, I want to take us back to the very basics of who we are as Christians in Christ. It is so important, that I chose not to make a link, but to put the whole article here. I have however, put a link to the site at the end if you want to read other articles.
