My Utmost For His Highest

  • WALKING IN THE GLORY September 8, 2010
One thing that can keep us going in the coming hard times is an understanding of God's glory. Now, this may sound like a high, lofty concept to you, one that's best left to theologians. But I'm convinced the subject of God's glory has very real, practical value for every true believer. By grasping it, we unlock the door to an overcoming l […]

The Solas

Sola Scriptura
The Bible is the sole written divine revelation and alone can bind the conscience of believers absolutely.

Sola Fide
Justification is by faith alone. The merit of Christ imputed to us by faith is the sole ground of our acceptance by God, by which our sins are remitted.

Solus Christus
Christ is the only mediator through whose work we are redeemed.

Sola Gratia
Our salvation rests solely on the work of God’s grace for us and in us.

Soli Deo Gloria
To God alone belongs the glory.

All of you.

I visited a site this morning that I belonged to a few years ago and came across this posting that I wrote back  in 2006 of which the main thrust was to become the title for this blog, Surrender All.
We are now almost in 2010 and my relationship in the Lord has certainly grown, and the thoughts I had back then about giving my all (or our all), have not changed but have rather grown stronger :
To hand ourselves, in every sense of the word, completely over to God, and give up every right to our lives forever to be His child, goes so against our natural soulish man that we immediately respond rebelliously against the thought.
But that is exactly what is required of us.
I watched a DVD this evening where it was explained like this:  When we hand over our life to Jesus, we don’t just move over to the passenger seat of the car, we actually get out of the car, climb into the boot, give him the keys, ask Him to slam it shut. Then call to Him through the keyhole and ask “So where would You like to go and what would You like to do?” Put like this, it is an immense thought and the seriousness of giving our lives to the Lord the way He wants us to, is mind-blowing. The Bible says in 1 Cor 1:18 that “The message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the Power of God.” The Power of God!
My simple life-changing question is this – where do you stand as you read this? Where is your life in Christ right now? He is waiting for your life to be given fully with no holds barred, to Him if you have not done so yet. You might be in a position where you believe in Him, but are still very much driving the car yourself  – possibly picking Him up occasionally…
I was also faced with this very same question 3 years ago and it was a travail of unutterable agony, but HE was waiting for me at the end of it as He now waits for you too, if you are just willing to let go…
All Of You
It goes against my every grain of intellect, of my common sense, of my consiousness.
My ways are not your ways,
My thoughts are not your thoughts.
Step into the water….Come to me.. yes, come.
The water? Walk to You? On the water? How can I?
I so want to! I am afraid!!!  I don’t understand how to!
Look to Me, not to your feet, I will make a way where you see no way.
Trust ME!
Leap!
Fly!
Step out of the boat!
Repentance, humility, gentleness, peace.
Surrender…Surrender…Surrender all. Everything.
I need all of you, not in part – not bits here and there. ALL OF YOU!
God first, God second, God third. No others. Ever.
All of You.
Here I am, Lord.
