My Utmost For His Highest

  • KNOW, BELIEVE AND KEEP TRUSTING IN HIS LOVE September 9, 2010
Anyone can keep his joy when he's riding high in the Holy Ghost, not being tried or tempted. But God wants us to keep ourselves in his love at all times—especially in our temptations. The apostle John tells us very simply how we can keep ourselves in God's love: "We have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that […]

The Solas

Sola Scriptura
The Bible is the sole written divine revelation and alone can bind the conscience of believers absolutely.

Sola Fide
Justification is by faith alone. The merit of Christ imputed to us by faith is the sole ground of our acceptance by God, by which our sins are remitted.

Solus Christus
Christ is the only mediator through whose work we are redeemed.

Sola Gratia
Our salvation rests solely on the work of God’s grace for us and in us.

Soli Deo Gloria
To God alone belongs the glory.

Supernaturally brought to Life

Some thoughts I have been having today.

Until a few years ago when  asked about the Lord, after I got my wits about me after frantically trying to work out how exactly to word myself, I usually ended up having very little to say, if anything at all and would be left with a feeling of utter impotence.

I mean, I knew stuff – lots of theory, but whenever I tried to explain about the theory as a fact or reality in my own life, the words just rang hollow…even to my own ears and so the words just remained as they were when read in a book – lifeless theory.

There was no Supernatural Life in my life and so no Supernatural Life in my words.

Everything we have in the Lord is from the Lord. It is all through His supernatural intervention, whether it is our hunger for the Him which leads to repentance and on to salvation, then our continued walk with Him after salvation,  it is all founded, grounded and all held completely Divinely Supernaturally both by Him and in Him.

All of us who are called of the Lord by name and who know His voice ( John 10:3 , John 10:27) are required to be a vessel through which the Gospel is shared – to  disciple others in His Name ( John 10:16 )

It may be only a few times, or it may be an ongoing, ever increasing happening.  It may be to a friend we have known our whole lives, or it may be a complete stranger sitting on a bus or who is serving us in a shop or perhaps even a dying family member. The number of times is of no real consequence – they don’t mean anything, but the thing that does count is that we remain completely open to the Lord and His leading every time.

Some of us  might think that we have no call on our lives, but in what I am sharing here, I am not talking about the call to preach, just the simple sharing of God’s Life in our lives as the Lord leads folks across our paths or us across theirs and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us in each and every situation. We have to wait upon His leading otherwise we will do it in our strength and not His. There will be no Supernatural Life in that.

Sometimes we may not be required to speak at all, other times we may be required to say a whole lot. It matters not which, only that we are willing to let the Lord help Himself to every single area in our hearts and in our lives and to have no agenda of our own. That understanding too, is supernaturally brought by divine revelation to bring each area of our lives along  His  line of thinking and to fullness of Life in Him. That is the only true Life now.

The Lord bless you
