Years ago, God put it on my heart to start a boys’ home on Long Island. I truly sensed the Lord was behind this work. Yet, after just eighteen months, state officials imposed such stringent regulations on the operation of the home that we had no option but to close it down. We’d taken in four boys during the brief time we were open. After we closed down, I l […]
Sola Scriptura
The Bible is the sole written divine revelation and alone can bind the conscience of believers absolutely.
Sola Fide
Justification is by faith alone. The merit of Christ imputed to us by faith is the sole ground of our acceptance by God, by which our sins are remitted.
Solus Christus
Christ is the only mediator through whose work we are redeemed.
Sola Gratia
Our salvation rests solely on the work of God’s grace for us and in us.
Psalm 36:5 Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
I have a very dear sister in the Lord. We have never met, neither have we ever spoken, yet I know unequivocally, that the Lord has joined us together as sisters and I have been so blessed, encouraged, challenged and changed by her candid, transparent style of writing and the sharing of her life and walk. All glory to the Lord for all this. It is all of His doing.
The Lord has brought her to a point where she has [...]
The cry of my heart has long been, “Lord, I want more of You!”
In this cry, is the full understanding that more of Him = less of me. This both costs everything and hurts more than can be told, as the Lord takes me through my ordinary life as He pleases. At times, to my shame, I find myself holding on with my fingers so tight as to make my fingernails white with the pressure, only to find He gently pries them open to let go of yet another thing that He needs me to. I can never [...]
God made me fast. And when I run, I feel His pleasure.
Part 1
Every now and again I get so excited and inspired by a life that was or is lived fully for the Lord. It is like a mini-explosion in me. It is so encouraging and causes me to lift up my heart in praise and fills my every pore to want to give the glory to God for it. It makes me long to sit down with the person and have a natter over a cup of tea with them. I want to get to know them [...]
A repost of an older post, with a few edits and additions
Bless you as you read.
The process of regeneration and sanctification is an ongoing process in our lives, by God. It is often one that causes us much agony as we learn to let go of ourselves and our lives bit by bit, with the help of His Holy Spirit and of course, yet again, His grace.
If we are to get to know God more and more, and also benefit the Body of Christ in any small way, these things have to take place.
I read this earlier on today and it made my very being leap as I read. It is just such wonderful, truthful writing and not from a theory only, because anyone who can write words such as these, knows the Truth of them because he has been led by the Lord to have lived them out in his own life and so speaks from experience.
Thanks to Andy from Faith Defenders for this.

A few posts ago, I looked into the Interfaith trend that is pushing hard for acceptance all round. To whom will you liken Me and make Me equal?
Author Joel Richardson, has written a commentary which I link to below and has a further look at the Interfaith unification between, Muslims, Jews and Christians and what God has to say about it.
Salvation is mine
not by mine own doing
but by a divine obedience
given from Another
in my stead
on a cross
on a hill
foreordained
before time began.
And through His obedience
I can now come
and approach The Throne
without fear
with supreme confidence
only because it is finished
on a cross
on a hill
foreordained
before time began.
Everything that I am
and all that I have
has been bestowed as a gift
given by Him
and is there only because
He bore my sin
on a cross
on a hill
foreordained
before time began.
How could I ever dare think
to stand and question
if He knows what He’s doing
with me and my life
When my Salvation is sound?
Oh, it’s only easy for me
because it cost Him so [...]
Even those who claim outright that they are not “emergent,” but who reject the clear and direct teachings of the Gospel and sound doctrine from the Bible, have been corrupted by the inherit postmodern spiritual bankruptcy that has invaded seemingly every part of the visible Church.Dialogue has as its main intent the finding of “common ground” in order to peacefully coexist with those of different mindsets, viewpoints, religion, or “types” of profession of faith, et cetera. This finding of “common ground” is nothing more than compromise.
