My Utmost For His Highest

  • THE PRODIGAL AND HIS FATHER March 5, 2010
I believe the prodigal son (see Luke 15) came home because of his history with his father. This young man knew his father’s character, and apparently he had received great love from him. Otherwise, why would he return to a man who would have been angry and vengeful, who would beat him and make him pay back every cent he squandered?read more […]

The Solas

Sola Scriptura
The Bible is the sole written divine revelation and alone can bind the conscience of believers absolutely.

Sola Fide
Justification is by faith alone. The merit of Christ imputed to us by faith is the sole ground of our acceptance by God, by which our sins are remitted.

Solus Christus
Christ is the only mediator through whose work we are redeemed.

Sola Gratia
Our salvation rests solely on the work of God’s grace for us and in us.

Soli Deo Gloria
To God alone belongs the glory.

Arrested for saying grace in public…

The Name of Jesus caused demons to tremble – that’s quite a thought!   Man however has no problem using His name as a curse word, with no fear attached. Others are simply going about looking to arrest folks who use the name of Jesus, as God intended it to be used – in love, adoration, worship and thanks.

What an indictment on countries who once sent out incredible men of God to evangelise and with their blessing too!

“Soft” persecution continues..not in any hardened communist country, but in the good ol’ USA this time.. It is quite something to see how fast this persecution has sped forward and is being entertained by the law courts in the Western World.  It is just a matter of time before it becomes intensified and acceptably so, by the majority of those who are not Christians.

It is all part of the plan of the God, and He has given us a Hope and His Name is Jesus.

You might want to file the following column under: Hard to Believe Items. Or possibly: Further Evidence of the Cultural Decline of Our Nation.

Here’s the story. Last week, following an all-day hearing, a school principal and athletic director from Santa Rosa County, Fla., were cleared of criminal contempt charges relating to a short blessing given prior to a meal.

That’s right. A simple prayer resulted in criminal contempt charges.

In this case, we see the extreme nature of those who oppose public religious expression – in this case it is the American Civil Liberties Union – and the extent they will go to punish those who pray or mention the name of Jesus in a public forum.
