Years ago, God put it on my heart to start a boys’ home on Long Island. I truly sensed the Lord was behind this work. Yet, after just eighteen months, state officials imposed such stringent regulations on the operation of the home that we had no option but to close it down. We’d taken in four boys during the brief time we were open. After we closed down, I l […]
Sola Scriptura
The Bible is the sole written divine revelation and alone can bind the conscience of believers absolutely.
Sola Fide
Justification is by faith alone. The merit of Christ imputed to us by faith is the sole ground of our acceptance by God, by which our sins are remitted.
Solus Christus
Christ is the only mediator through whose work we are redeemed.
Sola Gratia
Our salvation rests solely on the work of God’s grace for us and in us.
I have used this passage by Oswald before, but I feel it is one that needs to be read more than once. Not only read, but ingested that the fragrance of Christ may fill us so entirely that we might grasp the enormity of what the cross was really about. If you follow a crossless gospel or your church is taking you the way of a crossless gospel, run far away as far as you can from it – it cannot and will not bring you salvation dear reader. There is only [...]
Reading David Wilkerson’s Daily blog today, (and please do go and read it ) I was reminded of a post I wrote in September of 2008, most part of which is the title above.
It is one of those posts that is still very much a part of my life and I have learned with slow, awkward steps and many scraped knees from falling down, to wait upon the Lord and to listen for His voice a little better than I did at the time of writing it.
I came through a personal crisis last year, that [...]
Psalm 36:5 Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
I have a very dear sister in the Lord. We have never met, neither have we ever spoken, yet I know unequivocally, that the Lord has joined us together as sisters and I have been so blessed, encouraged, challenged and changed by her candid, transparent style of writing and the sharing of her life and walk. All glory to the Lord for all this. It is all of His doing.
The Lord has brought her to a point where she has [...]
A few posts ago, I looked into the Interfaith trend that is pushing hard for acceptance all round. To whom will you liken Me and make Me equal?
Author Joel Richardson, has written a commentary which I link to below and has a further look at the Interfaith unification between, Muslims, Jews and Christians and what God has to say about it.
Am I living with the Lord 24/7 fully dependent on Him regardless of the size of the storm roaring about me?
Am I living so surrendered to Him that I have the simplicity of knowing that there is nothing going on, that He does not have under His full control?
And am I prepared to step off the boat in Him, when there is no solid ground beneath my feet, but knowing fully that He will make a way and that the outcome will be His?
Oh dear precious Lord, these thoughts are the cry of my heart this day. Do whatever you [...]
We so often don’t understand why things don’t go according to ‘our’ plans and we get muddled and confused, when even after we have prayed for answer, (often with our own idea of the outcome secretly in mind), things may go opposite to what we expected. At the end of it all, it is not about our plans for our lives, but God’s. If we would but learn to let go of our own agenda and realise that it is God’s that counts, we would focus less on ourselves and focus more on God and what He wants for us. [...]
The Interfaith Unification Question
