We can pat ourselves very quickly on the back and feel really great about ourselves as the world has a mantra that tells us we are wonderful creatures and our <em>ego</em> and our flesh loves it! As humans, we are very strong-willed and need to often be shown <em>very</em> directly where we are at. Only then are we able to understand that we still have a loooong way to go and that the <em>Lord</em> is the One Who brings<em> both</em> the understanding and <em>then</em> the changes about... He always give us a sense of hope. Satan on the other hand, condemns us and we feel we will never be able to lift our head again. The Lord's 'Mirror' is a kindness, a mercy and done with such a love that I believe we will only fully comprehend, once we are with Him eternally.
